As much as you love salads, the same readymade dressings over and over again can get a little tedious. Instead, try making light and delicious vinaigrette dressing to add a spark to a dull and basic salad!
- Olive oil: ½ cup
- Vinegar of choice (Balsamic, white wine, red wine): 3 tablespoons
- Dijon mustard for some rich flavor: 1 tablespoon
- Maple syrup or honey for a bit of a sweet kick: 1 tablespoon
- Garlic (pressed or minced): 2 medium cloves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Quick and easy Salad Dressing for any occasion!
- Combine all your ingredients in a bowl or measuring cup.
- Use a whisk or fork to stir until the ingredients are thoroughly mixed in.
- Taste and adjust according to your taste. To counteract acidity, thin it out with olive oil or add a bit of maple syrup/honey to balance it out. If it is bland, add a dash of salt until it tastes right. To sharpen the taste, add vinegar, one teaspoon at a time.
- Serve immediately. If you want to store it away for later, make sure to cover it well. The vinaigrette will last in your refrigerator for 7-10 days.
If the mixture solidifies, let it rest at room temperature for a while. You could also microwave it for 20 seconds. Make sure to stir it after heating to blend the ingredients.
Great for vegetables, fruits, and greens, this basic recipe is a yummy, homemade addition to your dressing collection! Vinaigrette dressing is a must-have for every salad-lover out there.
