Sweet, Spicy, and Everything Delicious

Wontons:

  1. Add the ground pork, egg, green onion, ground ginger, chicken broth, cornstarch, black pepper, and salt in a large bowl. Mix well.
  2. Grab a wonton wrapper, place it on the inside of your palm, and add a teaspoon of your meat filling.
  3. Use some water to wet the edges of the wonton wrapper. Now, bring two opposite corners together to form a triangle. Make sure to remove any air bubbles and seal the wonton.
  4. There are different ways to fold wontons. But, since this is an easy Sichuan wontons recipe, we’ll give you a straightforward method. Wet the two bottom corners of your triangle and bring them together over the filled middle portion. What you’ll end up with is something that looks like an opened envelope. Follow steps 3 and 4 for the remaining filling.
  5. Before boiling your wontons, keep your sauce ready. All you have to do is mix all the ingredients for your sauce together.
  6. Now, boil a pot of water. Once the water comes to a boil, throw in a couple of wontons. Make sure not to overcrowd your pot. Stir occasionally to prevent them from sticking, and your wontons should be ready in 5-7 minutes.
  7. Mix the wontons with the desired amount of sauce and dig in!

Chef Tip: You can keep your wontons filled, folded, and ready. Freeze them so you can steam/boil/fry them as and when you crave them or when your friends pop by.

Make these spicy wontons with your kids or with your friends. It can be a fun activity. The best part is that the result is delicious to eat!
