  • Medium-sized napa cabbage
  • ⅓ cup of sea salt
  • ¼ cup of sugar
  • Cold water
  • ⅓ cup of crushed garlic
  • ½ tbsp of grated ginger
  • ½ cup of sliced onions
  • ½ cup of fish sauce
  • 1 cup of pepper flakes or gochugaru
  • ¼ cup of sliced carrot
  • 1 cup of sliced radish
  • ½ cup of sliced leek

Make this super-easy and drool-worthy Kimchi recipe at home!

  1. Pull out the cabbage leaves and place them in a bowl. 
  2. Fill the bowl with cold water and sprinkle some salt.
  3. Rinse the leaves thoroughly and drain the water. 
  4. Set aside till the leaves release all the excess water. 
  5. Now onto the paste! Mix the salt, sugar, garlic ginger, fish sauce, and pepper flakes.
  6. Stir together till a paste is formed.
  7. Add in the sliced vegetables—onions, carrot, radish, and leek. 
  8. Slice the cabbage leaves lengthwise and add them. 
  9. Mix it all with your hands. 
  10. Put the kimchi in a jar and close the lid tightly.
  11. Let it ferment in the fridge for 1 to 5 days. 
  12. Enjoy!

Chef Tip: Enhance the flavors of your kimchi by adding some seafood. You can add shrimp paste, sliced oysters, or pickled fish!
