  • A cup of flour (all-purpose)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 tbsp of cornstarch
  • ¹/2 teaspoon sal
  • ¹/2 cup of plain yogurt
  • 1 cup of beer
  • An egg
  • ¹/2 cup mayonnaise
  • A lime, juiced
  • A jalapeno pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of minced capers
  • ¹/2 tsp of dried oregano
  • ¹/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • ¹/2 teaspoon of dried cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper (ground cayenne)
  • 1 pound of cod fillets that should be cut into 2-3 ounces in portion
  • 1-quart oil for frying
  • 1 (12ounce) packet of corn tortillas
  • ¹/2 of cabbage that should be finely shredded

  1. Preparation of beer batter - add cornstarch, flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Blend egg with beer and then stir it into the flour mixture.
  2. White sauce preparation - mix yogurt and mayonnaise in any medium-sized bowl. Add lime to the mixture and stir it well to make its consistency runny. Now season it with jalapeno, oregano, dill, capers, cumin, and cayenne.
  3. Use a deep fryer to heat the oil to 375 °F.
  4. Now dust the fish pieces with flour. Then dip the pieces into the batter of beer, followed by frying until they become crisp. Drain it into the paper towel. Now lightly fry tortillas. To serve the dish, place the fried fish pieces into tortillas and finish on the plate by adding cabbage and serving it with white sauce.

Chef Tip: While frying the fish pieces, make sure that you make them crisp. Please wait for the fish to turn brown before draining it out. However, in the case of tortillas, try to avoid the crisp for better taste.
