Originating in England, Fish and Chips have become one of the most popular snacks of all time. It is one of the simplest snack recipes with guaranteed good taste and is usually served with malt vinegar, lemon, and tartar sauce.

  • Large potatoes
  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • Milk
  • Egg
  • Vegetable oil
  • Cod fillets

The tastiest, classic English snack!

  1. Take a medium-size bowl. Fill it with cold water and add 4 large potatoes. Take a separate bowl. Mix 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of pepper, salt, and baking soda, each. Mix 1 cup of milk and 1 egg in it until you get a smooth batter. Keep the mixture standing for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat around 1 quarter of oil in a large pot to 350 °F
  3. Fry the potatoes in hot oil to make them tender. Then drain them in a paper towel.
  4. Dredge the 4 fillets in batter one at a time. Then fry it until it is golden brown. Drain the oil from it using a paper towel.
  5. Fry the potatoes again to add a fine crunch.

Chef Tip: Always make sure to fry the fish until golden brown. Do not forget to drain the potatoes and fish using a paper towel after frying. Moreover, you must remember to keep the batter aside for at least 30 minutes for ensuring improved flavor and taste.
