1. What’s your favorite cuisine?

It’s got to be BBQ. I love savoring some tangy and slightly burnt delicacies, I know it’s a strange way of describing BBQ… but hey, that’s me! Apart from that, I also love some street food as well. 

2. How do you separate your personal preferences from your job?

Well, I go by the books. I follow a checklist of all things I learned on my way to becoming a critic, and I tick them off as I work. I don’t consider it dining out, I never take friends or family, I  go alone, do my job, of course, I do have fun at my job, but I always stick to the checklist, and that stops my personal preferences from getting in the way.

3. Tell us one thing we don’t know about you?

Well, I worked as a part-time DJ in the early days of my career. A reminder of that is my earring, this was my style statement as a DJ. I even had a couple of tattoos, which I got rid of later. But yea, that’s my little secret.

4. What brings you joy or makes you happy?

One might see me as a big-shot critic who knows what he’s doing, and for the most part that might even be right. But my job comes with a lot of pressure, I don’t want to tarnish the reputation of a restaurant. So, what makes me really happy is when I see other critics in the industry agree with my review. It reaffirms that I am doing my job well, and I wanna admit I’m kinda a workaholic. 

5. What do you do in your free time?

Um, I enjoy hopping clubs. My favorite place is Ibiza, I sometimes even take the liberty to DJ a bit due to some references I have from the past. I love DJing, basically, I am a sucker for good ambiance, music, and good food.
